PGY1: The impact of self-monitoring of blood glucose adherence on glycemic goal attainment in an indigent population

Why UNC

UNC has the challenging yet supportive environment that I was looking for in a residency program, and I am encouraged to pursue my personal goals as well as my professional goals. The pharmacy department is fully supportive of the pharmacy residents, and the various health professions value and depend on the pharmacy department, creating a great sense of community. UNC offers a unique opportunity to have an ambulatory care focused PGY1 while still gaining valuable experience in the inpatient setting, which I felt was important to better understand the full continuum of care patients go through. The research, teaching, and leadership aspects of the residency combined with the wide variety of clinical experiences in the inpatient and outpatient setting offer exciting opportunities to become a well-rounded clinical pharmacist.
