Why UNC
I chose UNC because it offered me the perfect combination of challenge, support, and growth. From the start, I was drawn to how highly valued pharmacy is here as an integral part of the healthcare team. The residency program's emphasis on teaching, mentorship, and professional development made it clear to me that UNC is committed to shaping me not only as a clinician, but also as an educator and mentor. UNC is also an incredible place to train for my PGY2 in pediatrics. The wide variety of rotation opportunities combined with the complexity and high acuity of our patients provide a great environment for learning the skills needed to succeed as a pediatric pharmacist. Lastly, the preceptors are deeply supportive and invested in our growth, and the sense of community among both preceptors and coresidents has made the transition to PGY2 easy. I feel both challenged and encouraged every day, and I can already see how much I have grown as a pharmacist since the beginning of the year.
