Why UNC

I chose to continue my training at UNC because I wanted a residency and healthcare system that provided a strong community and provided diverse clinical opportunities. Completing my PGY1 at UNC showed me how advanced pharmacy practice is at UNC-- both in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Pharmacists are a well-respected and an integral part of the healthcare team at UNC! I knew a PGY2 in ambulatory care at UNC would provide robust, challenging, and rewarding clinical opportunities across 16 different clinics within primary and specialty care. Additionally, UNC values and provides dedicated resources to medication access, ensuring the patient can access high quality medications. With this in place, ambulatory pharmacists can make a significant impact on patient care and consider the patient holistically. Last, with an interest in academia, I knew the close relationship with UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy would provide numerous opportunities to develop effective teaching skills and meaningful mentorship.
