Why UNC

When I began my search for a residency, I knew I wanted a program that would both challenge me to develop as a leader and value my well-being throughout the process. From the first interaction I had with UNC residents and preceptors, I knew that I would find this balance here. The sheer breadth of opportunities at UNC, both clinical and administrative, was unmatched and I knew I would be able to take full advantage and specialize down whatever path I forged. The focus on resiliency and well-being is also at the forefront. Every person I have met in the pharmacy department has been welcoming and shown genuine interest in not just my work, but the balance between work and life.
I also chose UNC because I knew as an admin resident I would have access to not one but three different networks of leaders to learn from and have the privilege to work with. Between the medical center leadership, system-level leaders within UNC Health, and the network of colleagues through the Carolina Collaborative, I get to work with people advancing pharmacy practice in a variety of different settings.
