Why UNC

I chose UNC because of its strong focus on pediatric oncology, a specialty offered at only a few programs nationwide. When searching for a PGY2, I was looking for a program that aligned with my passion for pediatric oncology and offered the opportunity to grow within this unique and challenging area of practice. UNC was exactly what I was hoping to find. From the start of the interview process, I felt genuinely welcomed by everyone I interacted with. The warmth, support, and dedication of the residency leadership and preceptors made it clear that UNC is a place where residents are truly valued. That feeling has only grown since Match Day and especially now being down in Chapel Hill. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a program with such a positive, resident-focused culture and to be surrounded by such kind, talented, and supportive co-residents. UNC has proven to be the ideal environment for both personal and professional development during this important year of training.
