Impact of Phenobarbital versus Benzodiazepine-Based Regimens on Patient Disposition in the Emergency Department Management of Alcohol Withdrawal

Why UNC

I was drawn to the pharmacotherapy program at UNC because of the wide range of clinical experiences it offers, while still giving me the ability to explore my clinical interest areas, like cardiology, family medicine, ambulatory care, and academia. I was particularly excited for the opportunity to engage in an 18-month longitudinal research project and to gain teaching experience at the Eshleman School of Pharmacy. What really solidified my interest in UNC, though, was the sense of community and collaboration that I felt from the program. During my interactions with current residents and preceptors, it was clear that this was a place where people supported one another, valued diverse perspectives, and worked together as a team. Overall, I felt that UNC would not only challenge me to grow into a confident, well-rounded clinician but also provide the mentorship and resources to help me succeed.
