Why UNC
I was excited to pursue a PGY2 residency at UNC Medical Center to broaden my clinical knowledge through unique specialty rotation opportunities and research, and to advance professionally as a teacher and leader in pharmacy. I was pleasantly overwhelmed with the abundance of rotation offerings in specialty care clinical settings and knew that I would be challenged clinically working alongside some of the best providers in the nation.
While I was looking for a program that would enhance my clinical knowledge and confidence, as a PGY2, I also sought a program that would grant me exposure into the administrative side of outpatient clinical pharmacy services and continuity of care. I was confident that I would be challenged clinically, but also professionally through administrative projects, committee involvement, the leadership certificate, and opportunities to create my own clinical protocol. I recognize the value of administrative and professional development, and sincerely believe that these experiences will help me advocate for the profession of pharmacy and expand clinical services in my future role.
I am grateful to be a part of the UNC family and feel lucky to be in a program that places emphasis on the wellbeing and individual/group successes of its residents.
