Why UNC

The Medication Use Safety & Policy program at UNC was the first of it's kind and to this day remains at the top of its class. Residents in the MUSP program at UNC are able to work directly with the university medical center and at the system level over multiple community hospitals, critical access sites and hundreds of primary care/specialty clinics. After completing a Managed Care PGY1 with a national health plan, I had a desire to apply my experience of formulary management at the health system level and grow my knowledge of medication safety, medical policy and the supply chain. The novelty of the MUSP program is what initially drew me back to UNC, but the strong pharmacy presence and system-wide support is what convinced me to commit to a second year.
