Why UNC

I was drawn to UNC because it truly exceeded everything I was looking for in a residency program. The breadth of rotations, paired with the chance to learn from skilled preceptors who are deeply invested in supporting resident development, will challenge me to grow into a well-rounded, adaptable, and compassionate clinician. Equally important, I felt an immediate sense of belonging during the interview process. Every interaction—with residents, preceptors, and leadership—was met with enthusiasm, authenticity, and kindness. As someone moving from out of state, it was important to me to find a supportive environment where I felt both welcomed and motivated to grow, and UNC truly offers that. What resonated with me most was the program’s dedication to fostering both professional excellence and personal development, shaping residents into individuals who grow not only in skill but in character. Training in an environment that cultivates empathy, collaboration, and innovation is exactly what I hoped for.
