Why UNC
I chose to continue my training at UNC because during my PGY-1, I found UNC truly exceeded everything I was looking for in a residency program. The breadth of rotations, paired with the chance to learn from skilled preceptors who are deeply invested in supporting resident development, will challenge me to grow into a well-rounded, adaptable, and compassionate clinician. Equally important, I felt an immediate sense of belonging during the interview process. Every interaction—with residents, preceptors, and leadership—was met with enthusiasm, authenticity, and kindness. What resonated with me most was the program’s dedication to fostering both professional excellence and personal development, shaping residents into individuals who grow not only in skill but in character. Training in an environment that cultivates empathy, collaboration, and innovation is exactly what I hoped for.
