Evaluation of anticoagulation monitoring in patients receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
UNC stood out to me throughout my residency search process for many reasons. Most importantly, this institution provides residents with a unique learning environment enriched with experiences and opportunities that I value as a young professional. I sought to learn from a pharmacy department with an infrastructure that promotes practice advancement, mentorship, precepting student pharmacists, independent learning, research, and opportunities for further education. This program possesses these qualities through the resident mentorship program, layered learning model, clinical on-call program, and certificate, PGY2 and fellowship programs. I also appreciate the department’s value on public health and service with community outreach opportunities at the Inter Faith Council Shelter and the Student Health Action Coalition. Lastly, I value the progressive nature of pharmacy practice at the UNC and I am excited to be contributing to these important initiatives as a resident.
