Residency training is indispensable for future pharmacists and aspiring clinicians, and the University of North Carolina excels at offering a breadth of experiences to guide residents in their development as pharmacy leaders and educators. I was most excited to engage students from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy through both didactic teaching and clinical layered-learning opportunities. I was also drawn to unique elements of this program such as the leadership training series, structured feedback model and built-in project days at the end of each rotation. The culture of learning and encouragement that UNC has fostered for its residents over the years is truly unmatched.
