Why UNC

When looking into prospective residency programs, I was looking for a well-rounded program that would challenge me in both clinical and administrative areas. My primary clinical interest lies in women’s health—a specialized field that few residency programs offer a dedicated rotation in. It was also important for me to find a program where residents are valued as individuals and where well-being is prioritized. During my interview, I felt an immediate sense of comfort and connection with everyone I met, and I clearly saw the strong, supportive community that UNC has worked hard to cultivate. UNC fosters meaningful relationships not only among residents but also with preceptors and mentors throughout the health system. Being a resident at UNC has been a very positive and rewarding experience, and I’m grateful to be part of such a supportive and well-rounded environment.
