I chose UNC because of its strong clinical focus and its emphasis on innovative pharmacy practice. UNC offers residents a broad variety of clinical rotations with excellent pharmacist preceptors who are integral to patient care. UNC also offers opportunities in pediatric oncology and many outpatient hematology/oncology rotations. In addition to a strong clinical focus, UNC provides many unique opportunities for personal and professional development, including the mentoring program and teaching opportunities. When I interviewed, residency leadership described pharmacy as a vocation and a calling, and I knew this was the place I wanted to be!
