Why UNC

The PGY2 Cardiology Pharmacy program at UNCMC prides itself on offering a versatile experience to its residents. As someone who has had a long-standing interest in cardiology, but a broad spectrum of interests within the field itself, it was a no-brainer for me to pursue a program which would grant me extensive opportunities spanning a wide range of acuity levels across both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, didactic and experiential teaching experiences, and unique elective rotations including heart and lung transplant, pediatric cardiology, and benign hematology. At UNCMC, these opportunities are packaged within a progressive pharmacy environment and an extremely supportive culture, full of amazing people who are dedicated to the success and well-being of those around them. As such, I view UNCMC as an institution that is uniquely positioned to cultivate versatile pharmacists capable of practicing at the top of their license and leading the profession to new heights.
