Why UNC
When I was researching residency programs, UNC stood out to me in a multitude of ways. I was looking for a program that would challenge me clinically, provide opportunities to grow as a leader, allow me to enhance my precepting skills, and had diverse learning experiences. UNC checked each box and peaked my interest immediately, but what really sold me on the program was speaking with the residents and the program leadership. It was abundantly clear the the residents were passionate about the program and were proud to be apart of it. It was obvious leadership and preceptors genuinely cared about each resident beyond being a learner in the program, but as an individual person with a life outside of pharmacy. Since the day I arrived, I have felt this support and strong sense of community. It's not suprising to me that many people join the UNC team and don't leave. I am confident that attending UNC will not only shape me into a well-rounded pharmacist who is prepared to care for incredibly complex patients, but it will prepare me to be an active member of an interprofessional team, a strong leader, and an advocate for my patients.
