Infectious Diseases Clinic (HIV/Hepatitis)

Rotation Description:

The ambulatory care infectious diseases rotation provides training in the area of adult infectious diseases and ambulatory care medicine through a multidisciplinary approach in the Infectious Diseases Clinic. Patients seen in the ID Clinic are managed by a variety of providers including Attending ID Physicians, ID Physician Fellows, Mid-Level Providers, and Clinical Pharmacist Practitioners.

The resident receives training focused on HIV and Hepatitis B and C including mechanism of action of antiretroviral and direct acting antiviral medications, common adverse drug reactions and side effects, drug-drug and drug-disease interactions, and management of resistance. The resident will be involved in engagement and retention of care by providing education, adherence counseling, and recommendations for antiretroviral therapy and drug-drug interactions.
