Academia (psychiatry-focus), Consult Liaison Psychiatry Ambulatory Care
Rotation Description:
The goal of the elective, non-traditional, academia focused rotation is to provide resident experiences in unique pharmacy practice environments such as direct interaction with pharmacy students in a didactic setting, college of pharmacy leadership committees and health care related professional societies. The elective academia rotation will provide residents with an overview of the role and responsibilities of an academician serving in a clinical faculty role including teaching, research, scholarship, administration, mentorship management, as well as patient-care in mental health. Residents will be given the opportunity to develop pedagogical and curricular materials based on their professional interests, as they relate to the goals and objectives. For the patient-care experiences related to the Consult Liaison Psychiatry Ambulatory Care clinic, residents will work with a multi-disciplinary team one half-day/week to help optimize psychiatric medication treatment plans for medically complicated patients.
