Acute Care Medicine/Infectious Disease

Rotation Description:

The Inpatient Internal Medicine Rotation is an acute care experience during which the resident works with a multidisciplinary team to  provide evidence-based, patient-centered care for patients admitted to an Internal Medicine Inpatient Service.  Residents will be exposed to all levels of care delivery, including order verification, patient monitoring, participation in patient-centered and care management rounds, care transitions, and addressing drug information questions.  Residents will be exposed to a diverse array of patients as well as disease states, from infectious diseases to acute exacerbations of chronic diseases.  Residents will assume coverage of a medical teams and act as the pharmacy representative for that team.
