Rotation Title

Inpatient Nephrology

Rotation Description:

Management of nephrology patients on inpatient service, including dialysis patients, progressive CKD patients, post-transplant patients, auto-immune patients including GN and lupus nephritis patients. Involvement with pharmacokinetic, anticoagulation, immunosuppression, rejection protocols, chemotherapy order assistance, and antibiotic monitoring. Also, working with transitions of care patients with medication access (PAP, MAP, etc), admission and discharge medication reconciliation as well as teachback and handoff notes to outpatient providers. Weekly participation in Transplant POD topic discussions. The resident also is responsible for an end of month inservice to the medical team or case presentation at Transplant POD and assists with precepting of students.
