Rotation Description:
The rotation provides exposure to leadership and management within health-system pharmacy, as well as discussions around core operational and clinical practices. This experience will provide a focus on integrating data and analytics within a department of pharmacy to drive decision making. This experience will also focus on strategies to identify, track and monitor the impact of pharmacy services on patient outcomes and pharmacy accountability measures. The learner will be exposed to joint projects and collaborations with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. The learner will also interact directly with the Pharmacy Analytics team, which is a service group within the Department aimed at positively impacting patient health outcomes and health care through data insight and analysis. This rotation is designed to give learners experience with the role of data analytics within clinical, operational, research, and financial areas through participation in projects and topic discussions. At the conclusion of the rotation, the learner is expected to understand pharmacy-related data and its role within the pharmacy enterprise as well as be confident in communicating and disseminating findings from data and reports. The learner will also understand strategies leveraged to identify and demonstrate the impact of pharmacy services.
