Rotation Title

Emergency Medicine

Rotation Description:

The emergency department at UNC Medical Center is an 85 bed unit, seeing over 200 patient visits per day and serving both adult and pediatric patients. We are an accredited adult and pediatric Level I Trauma Center, Burn Center, Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Center. The resident will gain experience in ACLS, cardiac arrest, rapid sequence intubation, trauma, toxicology, sepsis, ACS, seizure and many other common adult and pediatric conditions. The resident will be actively involved in antibiotic stewardship, pain and sedation management, and bedside management of critically ill patients. The resident will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide drug information and to be a medication resource. There are also a variety of opportunities related to teaching various medical professionals and being involved in process improvement projects.
