Rotation Title

Advanced HF, Cardiac Surgery, and Heart Transplant/LVAD

Rotation Description:

The rotation serves to enhance the residents understanding of, and ability to care for, the following types of patients with advanced heart failure:
1. Heart failure with reduced and preserved ejection fraction (HFrEF and HFpEF)
2. Advanced acute or chronic heart failure requiring evaluation for intravenous inotropic agents, placement of left ventricular assist devices (LVADs), or heart transplantation (OHT)
3. Acute Decompensated Heart Failure (ADHF)/Cardiogenic shock
4. Patients with complications status-post LVAD
5. Patients with complications status-post OHT
