Rotation Title
Advanced Code Training (ACT) Longitudinal Experience
Rotation Description:
The ACT series is designed to strengthen the pharmacy resident’s knowledge of ACLS pharmacotherapy and build confidence when responding to code situations throughout the residency year. Given the variability between code experiences across rotations and clinical staffing, the ACT provides a structured approach to standardizing code training by offering residents four immersive mock code sessions – an introductory session, advanced cardiology session, critical care session, and emergency medicine session. Each session is designed to improve competency by exposing the resident to unique situations, challenges, and evidence for pharmacotherapy management during ACLS, and sessions will be led by subject matter experts from each respective area. A longitudinal component is conducted quarterly and will reinforce key concepts, encourage reflection, and provide residents an opportunity to provide feedback on their code experiences.
