Adult Pulmonology/Cystic Fibrosis Clinic

Rotation Description:

The UNC Pulmonary Specialty Clinic at Eastowne serves patients with cystic fibrosis (CF), non-CF bronchiectasis, asthma/COPD, and other general & specialty pulmonary diseases. The Adult CF Clinic is comprised of physicians, pharmacists, nurse coordinators, dieticians, social workers and a respiratory therapist.

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the resident will care for CF patients by conducting annual medication reviews, evaluating medication adherence, assessing barriers to medication access, and will gain experience in the management of various manifestations of CF. Additionally, the resident will be expected to answer drug consult questions, manage outpatient IV antibiotics, provide patient & provider education and act as a liaison to the medication access team.
