Rotation Title
Ambulatory Care, Generalist
Rotation Description:
This rotation allows learners to experience a wide array of outpatient clinics across UNC’s Primary and Specialty Care team. Learners can expect to spend time seeing patients in both primary care and specialty clinics, such as Family Medicine, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Pain, Solid Organ Transplant, and many more. The clinic schedule varies week to week, depending on the needs of the department. This allows learners to quickly expand their clinical knowledge in a multitude of ambulatory care settings. Learners will also have the opportunity to fine tune their soft skills in the outpatient space, such as practicing motivational interviewing with patients, interacting with interdisciplinary teams, and gaining confidence practicing in unique clinical spaces. A key component of this rotation is also a half-day each week practicing in the Nephrology Clinic, serving patients with complex Chronic Kidney Disease.
