Of note, UNC Hospital Pharmacy Internship Programs only recruit once a year in the January timeframe with an estimated start date in May/June. Additionally, based on the structure of some of the internship programs, not all programs recruit on an annual basis.

Acute Care Services Internship

Internship director: Jonathan Cicci, PharmD, BCPS

  • Hours/Weeks during School Year:
    • Approximately 4 hours
    • Staffing: Every 4th weekend at Medication History Services
  • Hours/Weeks during School Breaks:
    • 10 week experience during the summer following PY2
    • Staffing: Every 4th weekend at Medication Therapy Services
  • Commitment: 1 year

Carolina Care Pharmacy Network Internship

      • 8 hours per week
      • Staffing: Every 3rd weekend, including one major holiday block and one minor holiday block

      • Staffing: Every 3rd weekend in Cancer Hospital Infusion Pharmacy (CHIP); One minor and one major holiday staffing over the 2 year internship
