Prepare for your upcoming surgery or procedure with the dedicated support of the UNC Hospitals Pre-Procedure Services at Chapel Hill, an anesthesia-based team. We’ll take care of any tests or bloodwork that is needed and get everything ready for your care.
Reasons You May be Contacted by Pre-Procedure Services
- Your surgeon or provider referred you to our clinic.
- You requested to see the anesthesia team before surgery and were referred by your provider.
- Our nursing team reviewed your upcoming procedure, and an anesthesia provider will see you to ensure your safety and confirm you are scheduled at the correct location for your needs.
- Your provider has ordered testing prior to surgery. Our knowledgeable nursing team will also share information on what to do before and the morning of your procedure or surgery.
What to Bring to Your Visit
- Current medication details: List of any medications you are taking, including prescription and over-the-counter medications. Also list the dose and time of day you take each medication.
- Recent test results: Any tests from non-UNC Health providers, such as echocardiogram or stress test reports, lab results, and pacemaker cards.
