UNC Horizons Child Development Center
We help children grow and learn with activities meant to weave them tightly into the local community. Just walking distance from the local library, elementary school and farmer’s market, UNC Horizons Child Development Center is perfectly positioned to introduce your child to the importance of being part of a community.
Located in the heart of downtown Carrboro, NC, we are a small, licensed childcare center that focuses on your whole child. Our team specializes in early education, and we have relationships with visiting speech pathologists, physical therapists and occupational therapists who can help us monitor your child’s growth and development.

About Us
UNC Horizons is a substance-use disorder treatment program for women, including those who are pregnant, parenting and/or whose lives have been touched by abuse and violence.
We are part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UNC-Chapel Hill and have sites in Orange and Wake counties.
Our trauma-responsive model of care focuses on both the mother and the child to heal the whole family and create systems of hope and renewal.
UNC Horizons is the only substance-use disorder treatment program for women in North Carolina that includes a child development center. You do not need to be a patient to get five-star care for your child. All children from 6 weeks to 5 years old are welcome.
