Who We Are
The UNC Health Care at WakeBrook Crisis and Assessment Services Unit is an outpatient clinic that provides behavioral health and substance abuse walk-in services including crisis screening, assessment, intervention and stabilization. We are a safe and secure location for individuals requiring a higher level of care to stay while awaiting placement. These services are offered 24 hours, seven days a week and 365 days a year. All services are provided by professionally trained licensed medical and clinical staff.
What We Do
Our program is designed for anyone who is experiencing a crisis related to mental illness, developmental disability and/or substance abuse. Under the direction of a physician, we provide clinical triage/screening, safety checks, nursing health assessments, emergency clinical assessments by licensed mental health professionals, substance abuse evaluations, commitment evaluations, emergency psychiatric evaluations and treatment, individual and family crisis counseling, medical consultation, substance detoxification and discharge planning and referrals for the next appropriate level of care, which can be either voluntary or involuntary. Assistance can also be provided with accessing the Alliance Behavioral Healthcare 24-hour Access and Information Call Center.
