UNC Geriatrics

UNC Geriatrics is a primary care practice focused exclusively on older adults. We work with patients 65 and older, and their families, to provide high-quality care based on the latest research and best practices. We can be your primary doctor or provide specific consultations on geriatric issues. We can also help coordinate treatment with outside specialists. UNC Geriatrics typically sees patients who are 65 and older, however we can see patients under 65 who are experiencing age-related issues such as dementia, falls, incontinence or other geriatric syndromes.

  • Primary care to maintain health, treat illness, and manage chronic conditions
  • Consultations on conditions related to aging such as dementia, falls, or incontinence
  • Coordination of care with specialists like cardiologists and oncologists
  • Pharmacy consultations to help manage medications and reduce overmedication
  • A Geriatrics social worker with expertise in caregiving resources, elder abuse, advance care directives, and more
  • Neurology and psychiatry consultations for patients experiencing neurological issues or mental health concerns
