UNC Cancer Genetics Clinic

Most cancer happens by chance. Sometimes an increased risk of developing cancer can run in families.

We are committed to providing excellent care to adult and pediatric patients through the innovative field of genetics. Based on your needs, you may meet with a genetic counselor or a genetic doctor. They will talk with you about your health, explain your risks and guide you through testing and care options.

Our skillful team provides comprehensive assessment for all hereditary cancer risks, such as a personal or family history of cancer or a known genetic condition that increases risk. Meeting with our team can help you understand your chances of having a genetic risk, learn about testing options and get personalized recommendations for cancer screening and prevention.
