The Women’s Health Information Center is pleased to invite female artists who are local to the Triangle area for a month-long exhibit.
Margaret Kamyczura On Display from March 01- March 31
I was born in Poland. I immigrated to the USA in my early 20s. I graduated from UNC School of Nursing at UNC Chapel Hill in 2009 and I have worked as a nurse for UNC Health Care since then. Few years ago, I started taking painting classes with Susan Hecht in Apex and still continue to learn under her tutelage. In 2017/18 I had an opportunity to paint with some of the UNC patients, who inspired me to devote more of my time to painting. In 2019 Alia El Bermani accepted me to her Independent Studio Practice in downtown Raleigh, where I continue to paint under Alia’s watchful eye. Because of painting, my life was changed forever.
As we sail through life, a moment happens and by our choice we notice it or not. With my art, I want to capture the beauty of the moments which shape our lives.
“If you paint because you must do it or die, you are my kind of painter!”
