Endocrinology & Metabolism

Endocrinology encompasses a wide range of conditions including diabetes, overactive thyroid glands, osteoporosis and much more. No matter your diagnosis, when you receive treatment at the UNC Hospitals Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic at Meadowmont you can expect to the highest level of care. Health care needs often become more complex with age. It’s generally unavoidable. At UNC Health Care’s Geriatrics Specialty Clinic, we have a team of geriatricians ready to help you remain as healthy, independent and active as possible. We are here to make sure you maintain the highest possible quality of life. We see patients over the age of 60, who have few or multiple medical conditions.

Infectious Disease

Infectious diseases are diseases that can pass from one person to another. The UNC Infectious Diseases Clinic providers are here to help you stay healthy, whether it’s getting through flu season, or diagnosing an illness after you return from traveling to another part of the world. Serving 2,300 patients, our medical team at the UNC Infectious Diseases Clinic specializes in treating people with acute and chronic infections.

Our faculty and staff are extensively involved in prevention programs, from vaccination outreach to civilian biodefense preparedness.

A consult service is available for all UNC Medical Care services, and we operate an inpatient ward at UNC Hospitals.

Behavioral Health

At UNC Medical Center, our psychiatric services focus on providing comprehensive clinical care to all of our patients, from the youngest child to the oldest adult.
