This team provides nursing professional development expertise in clinical education, transitions to practice, continuing professional development, policy, and student placement.

Practice Excellence and Innovation
This team includes quality coaches with clinical expertise, nursing analytics support, accreditation and certification programs, Advanced Life Support programming, and nurse-sensitive indicator data tracking.
This team has supported and collaborated on many hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives to further enhance patient care. They are involved with nursing strategy alignment planning and implementation, tiered huddle escalations, A3 project support, and more. Their mission is to improve outcomes and promote patient safety through nursing performance improvement.
Scholarship and Research
This team supports evidence-informed practice, nursing research, the Magnet program, and nursing communications. The nurse scientists focus on developing and sustain a stable infrastructure for high quality nursing research and evidence-based practice at UNC Hospitals. They offer classes implementing research into practice as well as a Doctoral Student Salon for teammates in graduate school looking to refine their student projects.
