  • Low levels of Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody can be detected in healthy individuals with normal thyroid function. 
  • This test is performed using the Siemens Atellica IM aTPOII assay (effective 8/7/2026) and results are not interchangeable with other systems.
  • Patient samples may contain heterophilic antibodies that could react with immunoassays to give falsely elevated or depressed results. 
  • Results of this assay should always be interpreted in conjunction with patient's medical history, clinical presentation, and other findings.  Performance of this assay has not been established with neonatal specimens.
