Comments

Low levels of Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody can be detected in healthy individuals with normal thyroid function.

This test is performed using the Siemens Atellica IM aTPO assay (effective 7/25/2022) and results are not interchangeable with other systems.

Patient samples may contain heterophilic antibodies that could react with immunoassays to give falsely elevated or depressed results.

Results of this assay should always be interpreted in conjunction with patient's medical history, clinical presentation, and other findings.  Performance of this assay has not been established with neonatal specimens.
