Comments
  • Samples must be processed within 2 hrs of collection.
  • For 12 hours before collection, patients should not take multivitamins or dietary supplements containing biotin (vitamin B7).
  • This test is performed in a reflexive manner. The thyroglobulin antibody is performed first. The thyroglobulin methodology is determined by the antibody results. If antibody results are negative (<1:8), the thyroglobulin is performed by immunoassay. If the antibody results are positive (>/=1:8), the thyroglobulin is performed by LC-MS/MS to eliminate possible interference from elevated antibodies.
