Specimen Routine: Blood/Lavender Top Tube: 1.0 mL minimum blood
Sample must be centrifuged and separated within ONE hour of collection.
Once separated, the plasma is stable 3 days refrigerated or frozen.
Availability 24 hrs/day
Turnaround Time   STAT 60 minutes, Routine 2 hrs
Reference Range Normal: <22 mg/dL
Comments Sample handling has strict requirements. Plasma must be separated from the cells within one hour of collection. False elevations in plasma hemoglobin may occur if separation is delayed.
