  • LDL-Cholesterol (calc) will be reported when a lipid panel is ordered. It is calculated using hte modified Sampson Equation and values for total cholesterol, HDL-choleterol and triglycerides.
Reference Ranges:
LDL-Cholesterol (calc)
>18 yrs <100 mg/dL
≤18 yrs <120 mg/dL
  • LDL will not be calculated when the Triglyceride ≥400 mg/dL. LDL Direct can be requested as a separately ordered test.
