Comments

Deliver immediately to Core Laboratory. Place specimen on ice if transport to Core Laboratory is anticipated to exceed 30 minutes.

Do not separate or freeze whole blood.


Venous specimens should be obtained without the use of a tourniquet. Patients should not exercise their arm or clench their fist before or during collection.  Syringes with needles attached will not be accepted. Syringes may be obtained from Central Distribution. If collected in green top tube, minimum volume is 1 mL.
