  • Histoplasma capsulatum and Blastomyces spp. antigens are both detected, but not differentiated, by this test.
  • Histoplasma/Blastomyces Urine Antigen is the preferred initial non-invasive testing for blastomycosis per CDC and Mycosis Study Group guidelines.
  • Serial antigen levels can be monitored for treatment response after initiation of anti-fungal therapy.
  • Histoplasma/Blastomyces Urine Antigen should be ordered in combination with Histoplasma Antibody per CDC and Mycoses Study Group recommendations for non-invasive testing of Histoplasmosis.
