Comments An estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) by Cystatin C calculation (eGFRcys) will accompany each Cystatin C result performed on subjects 18 years or older.  This equation estimates the GFR using the serum Cystatin C result as well as age and sex criteria extracted from patient demographic records, as recommended by the National Kidney Foundation (NKF, www.kidney.org).
