Specimen Routine: 1.0 mL blood in 3cc syringe w/ lyophylized heparin (BG Kit) or minimum volume 1 ml if collected in 7 mL green top (heparin) blood collection tube.   Acceptable tubes are Lithium Heparin-NO GEL or Sodium Heparin; see Comments. Deliver immediately to the lab.
Micro: 0.5 mL blood in 1cc syringe w/lyophylized heparin (BG Kit) or 1.0 mL if collected in Green top (Heparin) tube

If transport is delayed > 10 minutes, place specimen on ice and deliver or "tube" immediately.
Specimens with Needles attached will NOT be accepted.

Samples >30 minutes old may have unreliable results.
