Comment Specimens submitted for detection of antibody HBV Core Antigen (anti-HBc) are tested using a chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA). This assay provides qualitative detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against HBV core antigen in human serum using the automated Abbott Architect system.  It is intended for use in the diagnosis of acute, chronic or resolved HBV infection. Results are reported as nonreactive, reactive or greyzone.
