--Must be correlated with time since ingestion

--Results >30 µg/mL are called to physician as critical values.
--If time of ingestion is unknown, toxicity can be assessed by using 2 serial levels to calculate elimination T1/2 .
--T1/2 >4h is associated with overdose.

--When extended-release tablets have been used, two levels should be drawn: the first at 4hrs or more post ingestion, and the second 4-6hrs after the first.
