UNC Medical Center has received Chest Pain Center with PCI Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC). Hospitals with SCPC accreditation have achieved a higher level of expertise in dealing with symptoms of a heart attack, including reducing the time from onset of symptoms to diagnosis/treatment and preserving the integrity of the heart muscle.
